The Aktau mountains were formed from sediments belonging to the Cenozoic era (about 60 million years ago). Thanks to this, being here, there is a kind of cosmic feeling that you are on another planet. The Kathu Mountains are no less picturesque and formed as a result of the action of volcanoes. After the volcanic eruptions, the lava solidified and formed many dark-red figures, rocks and caves, fantastic in their appearance. The Katutau mountains in ancient times were inhabited by people, as evidenced by rock paintings in the form of argali, goats, deer, domestic animals.
