Ualikhanov's Spring
At the foot of the Maly Kalkan mountains, among the tract, there is a spring bearing the historical name of Shokan Ualikhanov. In 1856, an expedition from Russia to distant Kashgaria headed by the great scientist-educator and traveler Shokan Ualikhanov ran through the territory of the present national park. The expedition stopped at a spring to rest, and Ualikhanov himself drank water from this spring.
